We are going on a week-long culinary exploration of the on the Late Summer Cruise. \n  \nSaturday\, August 29 – Sail out on a short passage to Rock Creek\, off the Patapsco River. We plan to anchor in Wall Cove\, just to the left after you enter the creek. If you want to use a marina\, you have two choices\, Maryland Yacht Club or Fairview Marina. Those of you who have been here before will remember the excellent food and friendly staff. \n  \nSunday\, August 30 – Cross the Bay to Rock Hall. We are planning to stop over at North Point Marina\, home of the friendliest marina staff on the Bay. They will help us arrange transportation to Ford’s Seafood Restaurant\, a quirky\, down-home place where you’ll get good food at good prices. This is the place where the local people go\, so plan on having a great time. \n  \nMonday\, August 31 – Today is a sail to one of our favorite marinas\, Lankford Bay Marina\, located on Davis Creek off of Langford Creek (yes\, the spellings are correct) off the Chester River. Today you are on your own for dinner\, but the marina staff can help you arrange a ride back to nearby Rock Hall if you would prefer to eat there. \n  \nTuesday\, September 1 – A “lay day” at Lankford Bay Marina. You can take a look at the boat repair operation there is just spend a day hanging around the pool. Tonight is Mexican burrito night at the marina. The fleet is supplying all of the makings for build-your-own burritos in the marina’s pavilion. \n  \nWednesday\, September 2 – See if you can brave the challenge of sailing up the winding Chester River to Chestertown. The Chester will have you going through all points of the compass\, so bring determination and patience. Watch out for the shoals at the “Devil’s Reach” where the river bends sharply to the left.  Dock at the Chestertown Marina alongside the replica schooner Sultana\, if she is in town. Tonight we will visit Watershed Alley Restaurant for dinner. \n  \nThursday\, September 3 – Let’s take a walk! Chestertown has a designated walking tour of historic and architecturally significant houses. We can take a very shortened group walk to view some of the most interesting in the downtown area. Take some time to get lost in the stacks at The Bookplate\, one of the most unusual bookstores that you will ever see. Tonight is a special treat – dinner at The Kitchen at the Imperial. Operated by local chef Steve Quigg\, The Kitchen is a labor of love as he brings casual fine dining to higher level of quality. \n  \nFriday\, September 4 – We start on our way home by sailing back down the winding Chester River\, stopping at our last marina location at Castle Harbour Marina on Kent Island. Just outside of the marina gate you will find a wonderful pub restaurant\, The Pour House. SUMMARY:UCS Boaters Boat Show / Sept 11 - Sept 13
DESCRIPTION:Cruise to the beautiful Lighthouse Point Marina\, on the Patapsco\, in the heart of Baltimore.  Participate in the Show & Tell Boat Show. See many great boats and some really spectacular boat projects\, complete and in progress. \nThe Boaters Boat Show is not your typical showroom floor packed with gleaming\, untouched vessels waiting for a buyer—it’s something far more authentic\, more soulful. This is a show dedicated to the heart and soul of cruising classics—boats with stories\, with character\, with salt in their wood and wisdom in their wakes. These are boats that have been lived in\, loved\, and customized by their owners over years of adventure.\n\nHere\, it’s not about price tags or spec sheets. It’s about conversation. It’s about pulling up alongside a seasoned captain and asking\, “What made you fall in love with this boat?” It’s about hearing what they’ve added\, modified\, reinforced\, or simply endured—because that’s what cruising is really about. You’ll find everything from clever DIY upgrades to finely tuned systems that reflect thousands of miles of experience.\n\nThis show celebrates the bond between boater and boat. The quirks\, the triumphs\, the annoyances\, the “I wish I knew that before” moments. Whether it’s a classic trawler\, a salty ketch\, or a battle-hardened liveaboard\, every boat here is a piece of living maritime history—and every owner is a chapter in that story.\n\nCome for the boats. Stay for the stories. This is the Boaters Boat Show: where passion floats.\nAnchorage Marina will host us this year! \nLook on the events page of this group for the RSVP. I’m only posting it here to reach as many of us as possible. \nCall the Marina directly for slips. They will be giving us a better rate than Dockwa. \nMention you are going for the Boater’s Boat Show/Upper Chesapeake Sailing Group \nEmail:     Receptiondesk@AnchorageMarina.com \nCall:   (410) 522-7200 \nStreet Address:   2501 Boston Street\, Baltimore\, MD\, 21224 \nDirections by Sea: \nFrom the Chesapeake Bay\, enter the Patapsco River. At Fort McHenry\, bear to starboard entering the Northwest Harbor. Follow East\, then West channel. Anchorage Marina is on starboard\, located at 39.16.77 / 076.34.96. \nWater depth into the marina exceeds 10′. \nThe receptionist is Junyay. \nThe Dockmaster is Wayne Easton. \nThe marina is on the promenade on the waterfront\, with the waterfront and Pusser’s both an easy walk away. The boaters’ boat show will be on Saturday during the day\, and there is a band playing at the marina Saturday evening. \nIf anyone feels like bringing some instruments\, we can have a jam session\, too. We will break the boats into groups for visitation. We will do that as we get closer and we get a sense of how many will be in attendance. \nThis will be awesome!! \n\n\n\n	\n	\n RegisterRegister\n\n\n	Be the first!	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n First*\n \n \n \n\n\n\n Last*\n \n \n \n\n\n\n Email*\n \n \n \n\n\n\n Mobile Phone (For text communication during the event)*\n \n \n \n\n\n\n Crew Size (Including the Captain)*\n \n \n \n\n\n\n Vessel Name\n \n \n \n\n\n\n Additional Comments\n \n \n \n\n\n \n\n \n Comments\n \n \n If you are a human\, do not fill in this field \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n \n Already registered?\n Already registered? \n\n \n Use this tool to manage your registration. \n \n\n \n \n Enter your registered email address*\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n \nNot yet a member?
