DESCRIPTION:Join Allan and Joey Vanderheyden for a great holiday weekend on the Bay. \nSATURDAY \nTake a leisurely cruise to Worton Creek.  Weather permitting\, we will raft up for an international experience.  Raise the flag of your country and serve a dish from there – we will go boat to boat trying the delicacies.  Prizes\, will be given out\, so stay tuned. \nSUNDAY  \nWe will head off to Magothy River\, location to be defined based on weather.  For those wanting to feel the rush of the early season wind\, you can be part of the very low key race to Magothy.  Instructions to follow.  We will use the evening to celebrate the season and the upcoming vacation day by shooting off a couple of old flairs – bring yours and join us for a mini 250-year celebration. \nMONDAY  \nThis is your own day\, but we will\, in honor of our veterans\, do a sail past flying your biggest American flag and any other patriotic paraphernalia you may have. DESCRIPTION:MID SUMMER CRUISE\, 7-DAY\,  WHERE THE WIND BLOWS \n2 Itineraries – Dependent On Wind  \nWe all know that July weather can be brutal and unpredictable at times on the Bay. It is for this reason that I have prepared two options to mitigate any adverse winds/weather. Because some like marinas\, and other prefer anchorages\, this week mostly has options at either.  \nTrue South with cooperative winds  \nDay 1 Sat. July 11\, sail across the bay to Tolchester Marina for lunch and music at Shanty Bar. Arrive before 1130 to ensure one of their free large floating docks. Southland is a modern country band. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/L24OVmYVbIA     \nLeave for slip North Point Marina in Rock Hall\, dinner aboard\, cocktails in Pavilion  \nDay 2 Sun July 12\,  Depart Rock Hall for West River. 24 nm. take a slip at CYC or anchor out. dinner aboard.\n  \nDay 3 Mon July 13\, While in West River\, 11:30 brunch at Stan and Joe’s\, a casual\, dog friendly eatery having fresh crabs. They have 10+ large deep slips and are easily accessible.   Depart West River 1 pm for a long cruise (40 km) down to Solomons. Sunset is 2033 hours So expect to arrive before dark. Settle in one of Mill Creek’s many anchorages for a quiet eve. Bring fans!\n  \nDay 4 July 14\, swing over to Spring Cove Marina or anchor in Back Creek hopeful for an early arrival to be able to enjoy a walk or bike into town. Town dinghy dock is available. Pot Luck Dinner in the Spring Cove Pavillion- make your fav dish.  \nDay 5 July 15\, Decision to stay an extra day will be made by members as Solomons has lots to offer.  Or take a short trip up the Patuxent and St Leonard’s creek for meal at Vera’s Marina Restaurant.  \nDay 6. July 16\, Early departure for Oxford.
