SUMMARY:Memorial Day Cruise
DESCRIPTION:Memorial Day – (Dingy cruise) Fairlee Creek \nMay 25th we will throw lines and head across the bay to Fairlee Creek just 10.5 miles across the bay. Once we arrive at Fairlee we can grab a slip at Great Oaks Landing or drop your hook in the protected waters of Fairlee creek. Great Oaks landing is a beautiful Marina that has a sandy beach and fire rings. Saturday we will enjoy the marina\, have lunch\, maybe a swim in the pool. Dinner is on your own\, you can have dinner in the restaurant or on your boat. I hope we can have Happy hour on the beach down from Jellyfish Joels and watch a beautiful sunset. \nSunday get your dingy read as we will head east to explore the back of Fairlee creek. Many of us have not been very far past the entrance to Great Oaks landing Marina. Did you know the creek goes back another 2.5 miles? We can lash up the dinghies and head out to see the great unknown. Bring hats and sunscreen as we are roughing it with as we head back to the back of the creek. I am sure it will be beautiful. Once we return we can have lunch and take naps. Sunday evening we will head over to our favorite place Worton creek only 4.5 miles away. \nAt Worton you can take a slip or drop the hook. The idea is to sail in at Sunset. Dinner is on your own again. After dark\, find a friend and enjoy a night cap before heading in for a good night’s sleep. Monday there is always the early birds that want to get home. Those that want to stay a little longer after breakfast since we have the dinghy ready we can go for a dingy tour of Wortons back creeks. The last time I saw lots of beavers swimming in the creek and a ton of bald eagles. We will return in time for a bite of brunch and head back across the bay to our home slips. DESCRIPTION:Early May (Solomons North) WTWB–This cruise will start at Solomons the week of May 13. Below is proposed schedule. \nWe are tentatively planning on departing early the week of May 13. Actual day is still not final but thinking Tuesday. We have no firm date on Saranac availability. This will be a WTWB cruise. \nArrive no later than Sunday 5/12 to allow 2 nights in Solomons (Zanheisers or marina of choice and meet up for gatherings). There are many activities in Solomons to fill the day and will allow one day of rest before heading back up the Bay. \n5/14 Tuesday – cross the bay. depart for Hudson Creek on the Little Choptank. 29 miles. Anchor.\n5/15 Wednesday – leave Hudson Creek for the West River (possibly Chesapeake Yacht club south of Annapolis in Shady Side). 35 miles. Cross the bay.\n5/16 Thursday – leave West River for Rock Hall 28 miles or Tolchester marina/beach 33 miles. Cross the Bay.\n5/17 Friday – leave either Rock Hall (19 miles) or Tolchester for Middle River (10 miles). Cross the Bay. \nHoping by crossing the bay so much it may help w catching the southerly winds. SUMMARY:3rd of July Race\, Potluck and Fireworks
DESCRIPTION:Cruise to celebrate the birth of our Nation! \nSaturday July 3rd 10 AM: Meet at Maryland Marina Pavilion for a pre-race meeting and crew pick. \nWe will take a few boats out for a race around the island.  We’re not sure which island until we see what the wind is doing. The winning boat will get a prize but better yet will have a year of bragging rights.  The winner will be the first boat returning to Middle River.   The course will be given out the morning under the pavilion. \nThis is also the beginning of our treasure hunt/poker run.   There are 5 containers hidden around Frog Mortar creek and each container has an envelope in it.  Find all 5 containers and remove one envelope from each container and keep it.   Each envelope contains a card.  When everyone has collected their 5 envelopes\, we will open them and play a hand of 5 card stud poker.  The winning hand gets a fantastic prize.  This will be going on both Saturday and Sunday.  You will need a dingy to find the containers. \nSaturday evening 5 PM: We will have a social gathering at Maryland Marina. This will be a pot luck dinner.  Bring something to share & BYOB. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Solomons adventure. \nWe’ll pickup from the Springboard Cruise in Knapp’s Narrows and head down the bay on Monday\, June 21st for a 2 night stay at Safe Harbor Zahnisers Marina. Tuesday\, June 22nd explore Solomons Island and possibly meet with the group for dinner. On Wednesday\, June 23rd we will depart Solomons and head to the Little Choptank River to anchor in Hudson Creek. Our happy hour will consist of a dinghy drift on the creek. On Thursday\, June 24th we will move back to the Western shore to visit Rhode River and enjoy the peacefulness of the anchorage. Friday\, June 25th we will head to Rock Hall for captain’s choice of marina\, mooring or anchorage.
